Reliability, Tardiness and Missing Shifts

Reliability is Paramount

We book jobs based on the availability you provide to us. Once booked it is of the utmost importance that you follow through on your commitment. The event industry is unlike working at Target where shirts can wait till tomorrow to be folded. A client or bride will not care why you’re late or unavailable.

  • Attendance
     – “Calling in/out” the day of an event is not acceptable and barring urgent and unavoidable circumstances, can often result in immediate termination.
    – Altering an assigned schedule will be the responsibility of the assigned host, and requires the approval of the Events Director as not all hosts have been trained to set up all services.
    – Removal from scheduled shifts may reduce your total assigned shifts, as if you ask to be removed from a scheduled event, the event will still count toward your overall assigned events for the month.
  • Tardiness
    – It is very important that all hosts arrive at the scheduled call/Meet Time.
    – Hosts who prove to be unreliable will be ultimately be scheduled for fewer event.

Smash Booth hosts have the benefit of setting their own availability and are provided ample reminders to complete their availability prior to events being assigned. Any day a host wishes to not work, they only need to mark off in their availability prior to being assigned a shift, no approval is needed. Because of this, there is no reason and little understanding for missing or rescheduling of shifts, with the exception of unavoidable and unexpected situations.
