Find everything you need to know about our Robotic Dog Photo Booth experience, from setup requirements to customization options.
What is the Scout Robotic Quadruped Photo Booth?
Scout is a four-legged robotic photo booth that roams throughout an event and captures photos from its signature dog-eye view. Instead of asking guests to visit a traditional booth, Scout brings the photo experience directly to them in a unique, buzz-worthy way
Does Scout actually move around the event?
Yes.
Scout is designed to roam through the event space, allowing the experience to travel with the crowd. Its movement also makes the robot itself part of the entertainment and naturally gets guests curious about what it can do.
How do guests receive their photos?
Scout is a digital photo booth experience, so photos are delivered digitally for convenient sharing. Scout will have a friend walking beside him with a hand-held sharing station (guests do not get down on the floor to share)
What is the dog-eye view?
Dog-eye view refers to Scout’s lower camera perspective, giving guests a fun look at the event from roughly the viewpoint of a four-legged companion. It creates unexpected angles and gives the final photos a recognizable style of their own.
What types of events work well with Scout?
Scout is a natural fit for trade shows, conventions, conferences, brand activations, corporate events, technology events, and other experiences looking for something unexpected. It works particularly well in environments where guest interaction and organic attention are important.
Will someone from Smash Booth operate Scout?
Yes. The Scout experience includes professional onsite support from Smash Booth to manage the activation and guest interactions. Our team handles the technology so Scout feels like a polished part of the event rather than simply a robot placed in the room.

Deliverable Output
Scout delivers digital photos captured from its signature dog-eye view, giving event photography a playful new perspective. Guests can receive and share their images digitally, keeping the robotic photo booth experience streamlined without the need for onsite printing.
Space Requirements
Scout is a roaming robotic photo booth, so there is no traditional fixed booth footprint. The quadruped robot moves throughout the event space and interacts with guests where they are, making it especially well suited for trade shows, brand activations, conferences, and open event environments.
Power Requirements
Scout operates wirelessly while roaming the event, with standard 110V power required for charging and supporting equipment. A designated charging location should be available throughout the activation so the robotic quadruped photo booth can remain operational during longer service periods.
Internet Requirements
A reliable Wi-Fi connection is preferred to support digital photo delivery and sharing throughout the event. Internet requirements may vary based on the venue and activation setup, so connectivity should be confirmed in advance for the smoothest guest experience.
Setup & Removal Time Requirements
Plan for approximately 20-30 minutes of setup time before the activation, allowing the Smash Booth team to prepare Scout, supporting equipment, connectivity, and the roaming environment. Strike is estimated at approximately 15-30 minutes following the event.
Guest Flow & Throughput
Scout can accommodate approximately 40–60 guests per hour, depending on group sizes, guest interaction, and movement throughout the venue. Because Scout is a roaming photo booth, the experience is intentionally more interactive than a traditional high-volume photo station, with the robot itself becoming part of each guest encounter. We typically see a much smaller throughput (10-20 per hour)becasue guests love to engage, ask questions, and take selfies with Scout.
